Studio

A little about my facility:

While You Wait

While You Wait.txt

My studio has a full waiting area with coach and chair. I also provide an assortment of products that I feel are important for guitarists and bassists to have: strings, electronic tuners, straps, picks, music stands, etc. I am also a dealer for Peavey and Fernandes products. While you wait I always have instructional DVDs playing for more learning before and after your lesson. My entire collection of Guitar Player, Guitar One, Guitar World, Young Guitar, and Total Guitar magazines are available for students to read while waiting (some are also available for sign-out). Wireless internet has also been added to the waiting room.

New Media Library

New Media Library.txt

My new media library allows students to access recordings I have found very inspiring for my playing and musicianship. There are a variety of CD's, video cassettes, and magazines each student can sign out for a week at a time. Listening is a huge part of learning an instrument, and this allows each student to experience new sounds and artists whenever they feel the need to hear something new. Current titles include:

Dream Theater-Images and Words

Paul Gilbert-Get Out of My Yard

Rush-Restrospective

Bela Fleck and Edgar Meyer-Music For Two

Bela Fleck-Tales from the Acoustic Planet

Al Di Meola, Paco De Lucia, John McLaughlin-Friday Night in San Fransico

Steve Morse-Coast to Coast

Dixie Dregs-Full Circle

Coheed and Cambria-Good Apollo I'm Burning Star IV

What to bring

What to bring.txt

I try to have everything any guitarist or bassist may need at my teaching studio. All a student should bring is his or her instrument and music from the last class. Students have access to a full library of books, over 30 years of Guitar Player Magazines, and hundreds of lesson pages I have created. If you would like more information on my approach, check out the bio page or drop me an e-mail with specific questions.

Learning Tunes or Recording You Own

In the mood to learn a new tune? No problem! I use Soundforge, a very powerful transcribing tool for helping students learn even the most complex licks. It is also a great way to slow down a recording and develop practice CD's that allow the student to jam with difficult riffs at home.

Feel like recording a new tune you just wrote? I currently use Cubase for all of my recording projects. This is the same software I have used to record my band's current albums. In addition to being able to record your guitar, bass, or voice, I also use drum samplers that allow us to build custom drum beats for any style of music.
